Committee Opportunities

Membership Committee:

Each state’s membership committee is responsible for the coordination of a campaign or strategy to increase membership in conjunction with the Executive Director. Also responsible for making certain the membership rosters are up to date and ensuring the membership information on the SLTA website is accurate at all times.

Education Committee:

Each state’s education committee is responsible for coordinating annual title schools (minimum one per year) for SLTA members in its respective state and supporting the Vice-President in coordinating seminars/speakers for the Midyear Meeting and Annual Convention. The Education Committee also supports the Executive Director in obtaining CLE/CE credits from the state Bar Associations and Departments of Insurance (as applicable) prior to any educational events, as well as ensuring compliance with all applicable reporting and certification requirements after said events.

Legislative Committee:

Each state’s legislative committee is responsible for the monitoring and reporting of all state specific governmental affairs directly affecting the title insurance industry.

Communications Committee:

The Communications Committee is comprised of a SLTA board member chairperson and SLTA member volunteers. The SLTA Communications Committee is responsible for working with the Executive Director to acquire articles and ads for the association’s newsletter, The Title Wave. Also responsible for monitoring content of the website and assisting with any press releases. Possible areas where we could use help are Website, Social Media, Newsletter, Press Releases.

Sponsorship Committee:

The newly formed Sponsorship Committee is comprised of a SLTA board member chairperson and SLTA member volunteers. The Sponsorship Committee is responsible for working with the Executive Director to coordinate, market and distribute our SLTA sponsorship package as well as work to recruit local non-package sponsors for the various SLTA event opportunities as well as the Title Wave. This committee is also responsible for working directly with our sponsors to ensure we are providing the value and benefits necessary to the continuity of their support.
